Almost as soon as she got off the train, Lyric had been packed up again to join her father on a two week tour over in the U.S. for a few weeks. She would've preferred to stay in London where she at least had friends, but apparently that wasn't going to happen for at least a little while this summer. 

The he vscstion of sorts had started out pretty cool, spending time in New York, then in Florida on the beach, but right now...it was less than stellar. They had decided to take the tour bus to Dallas instead of flying ahead of it and had blown a tire on some highway in Oklahoma. A tow truck was on its way, but for now all they could do was sit and wait in the heat. This sucked.

STILL ON THE GROUND

The summer had proved to be just another opportunity for Natalia to do absolutely nothing. She knew her best friend was somewhere in America and, after convincing one of her Ravenclaw comrades to get her a Portkey, Natalia was ready to go...well...wherever the Portkey was going to take her.

She had a backpack slung over her shoulder and she was grinning, looking down at the broken coffee mug with anticipation. The Ravenclaw boy had promised it would get her to Lyric, and although Natalia wasn't quite sure how they could know that, she didn't doubt it.

She reached down and pressed a single finger to the broken piece of ceramic. An uncomfortable tug yanked her away into some other dimension and she was suddenly standing in the middle of some deserted highway in a flat, brown no where. The heat of the American South pressed down on her and she shrugged out of the light sweater she had thrown on earlier, regretting her decision to where jeans.

She looked one direction and saw nothing but blacktop spanning for what seemed like miles. She thought she could see a cow off to one side, but she wasn't sure because it was so far away. Turning around, Lilly finally caught site of..something...she wasn't quite sure what. All she knew was that it was the only vehicle for miles.

As she got closer, she narrowed her eyes and held her hand above her face to block the blazing sun, "Lex?" She called to nothing, not sure there were even people around to hear her.

Liam had gotten tired of Lyric's pacing and complaining long before he actually kicked her out of the bus and made her go for a walk. The tow truck still hadn't arrived and the teenager was bored out of her mind. Playing her guitar hadn't helped, neither had calling the few friends who actually had cell phones. Everyone was too busy and they had been here for hours in addition to the time already spent on the road.

Before she had gotten very far away from the useless hunk of metal, a familiar voice called her name and Lyric wondered if she was hallucinating. Turning around, she found Lilly standing in the middle of the road like she had been there the whole time. "Oh my God. Lil!" She squealed, practically running to her best friend and tackling her in a big hug. "You're here! How is that even possible? This is awesome. Lil!" Okay, maybe now she wouldn't die of boredom, even if her father killed her over unexpected visitors.
