MODERN HISTORY
NOTE: WIZARDS HAVE COME OUT AND ARE NOW PUBLIC! THEY WORK TOGETHER WITH MUGGLE GOVERNMENTS TO ADVOCATE FOR WIZARDING RIGHTS!
since the defeat of voldemort, the life of harry potter and his friends was relatively quiet. there were no more epic battles for humanity or anything like that. ministers went in and out for a few years following the defeat of the dark lord while the wizarding community tried to find someone they could really trust. someone who would not get up and lie to their faces.
they found the man in benjamin anton, a british native with a good family and simple life-style. he was as honest as they come and he successfully got the ministry back in a place where people weren't opposed to following them. there were still some lingering effects from when the death eaters were around and every now and then you'd have a freak occurrence of one the remaining followers trying to relive the glory days. they never got further than scaring a few people before they were caught, though. and the ministry kept them under wraps fairly well.
at hogwarts, mcgonogall became head mistress and lived a full life conducting education at hogwarts. harry's children went through hogwarts and caused just as much trouble for the teachers as their father had and everything was pretty boring for a long time. at age one-hundred and four, mcgonogall passed leaving hogwarts to a young and inexperienced professor by the name of kelley barnes. despite his young age, he ran hogwarts better than most head masters. he successfully collected a final prophecy from sybill trelawny before she retired from the field of education.
THE PROPHECY
the final prophecy delivered by professor trelawny before her retirement and eventual death was given as such, "he who proves himself worthy shall collect the past of the chosen one...memories that seem meaningless alone will help a great deal in the battle that lies ahead...possession of the past is key for victory..."
HAPPENING NOW
nearly two-hundred years later, a girl was born named jessica leigh neeson. she grew up with a good family and a solid family tree. by the time she was nine, she had started having recurring dreams about a boy named harry potter and his exploits against the darkest wizard of them all. when she relayed the stories back to her mother, she was told it was just a silly children's book and that she ought to stop thinking about it. but she continued, still, to have terrifying, vivid nightmares about this boy. she saw them through his eyes. she could hear his thoughts and see his actions. it was almost as if she were harry potter.
being told that she needed to stop thinking about it, jessica continued to suffer these dreams in silence. when she had enough money, she went out and purchased a small journal in order to record the dreams she had in them. eventually though, the dreams began to mix with her reality. she couldn't remember what she was supposed to be doing or if she was even old enough to attend school yet. by the time she was finally ready to attend hogwarts, these dreams had become so natural to her that she didn't even know exactly which life she was leading, that of a fifteen year old boy in the year 2006 or her own 11 year old self in 2208.
her father, an unspeakable with the ministry, while cleaning up her room before her first big trip to hogwarts, found her dream journal and flipped through it not aware of what it was. after reading a few of the entries he quickly filched the book and compared it to some records in the department of mysteries. after about a week of searching he found what he was looking for. a prophecy stating that someone would be collecting the past of the chosen one. was that his daughter?
he knew if anyone found out about the dream journal, they would be after his daughter. she would probably always have a target on her head if the truth got out. so he hid her journal exactly where she had left it, and pretended like nothing had ever been found in the first place. sure, its not the most mature solution, but it was the only one he could come up with given the circumstances.
now going in to her third year, jessica has yet to be discovered as "he who is worthy..." and nothing has really changed. in the darkness, though, creeps a new enemy. following in the footsteps of voldemort, this person wishes to become even more powerful than he who must not be named. let all the world fear the name alec valdecci...
