playing for the future - lyric

"Shove off Taze." Lex scolded playfully, swatting at one of his hands half-heartedly. She was no coward, but this place was creeping her out, like they were being watched. Taze's presence was comforting against the gloom and she found herself leaning slightly closer to him, but not much. Any other time she might have been mad at herself for showing anyone, especially a guy, that sort of vulnerability, but Taze hadn't done anything yet to prove she couldn't trust him and right now she just didn't care. They probably wouldn't talk about this ever again if they got out of the room quickly anyways.

Normally, Taze would have taken advantage of being alone and tried to kiss the pretty girl. After all, he had had a crush on her for a while now, but something about this room seemed...off. Oh who is he kidding? That doesn't affect his sex drive. When he felt her lean in just a little bit more, he leaned down and turned her head to try and kiss her...

Closing the distance between herself and Taze, she kissed him for a moment before breaking away long enough to turn in his arms. The creepy feeling faded away as she focused on him and what was happening. Did she really want to do this with one of the few people she trusted? The short answer was yes. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she leaned up to kiss him again without saying a single word.

When she turned in his arms to get closer, he grinned into the kiss and pushed her against the wall with the door to the balcony where they had just come from. He grabbed her arms and held them together above her head with one and while the other hand found the small of her back and pulled of close to him.

That was it, he had seen enough. It was already inexcusable that the two twits had landed on his balcony when they should have been well on their way to class, but now they were making out in his room. Before the boy could take things any farther, Asher stepped out of the storage area he'd been in to face the students, both who were oblivious to his presence by that point. "Mr. Fowler, Ms. Lee. Am I interrupting something?" He questioned in a menacing voice, waving his wand as he spoke to light the candles placed around the room.

Before Lex could even react to their change in position, a familiar male voice resonated from behind them. "Oh god no." She whispered, ducking down behind Taze's shoulder so that Professor Asher was hidden from her view. The man was ticked, that was evident. Then again, he always was. Why did he have to show up now and ruin the moment? Oh yea, because he was an adult and it was his sworn duty to suck the life out of everything.

He would never admit it, but the stern voice of Professor Kale made Taze's heart stop. He broke the kiss from Lyric and groaned, not sure if he was more upset about being caught or the interruption in general. He turned slowly so that he could keep Lexie hidden as long as possible, while turning to face the now lit room and the professor, "Hey, Professor Kale. What's goin' on?" His voice twanged, obviously American.

"You see Mr. Fowler, I'm not quite sure. Here I was in my private chambers preparing for class and then suddenly two of my students are doing very improper things." Asher made sure to keep his voice even, especially when he was certain that this was going to end horribly for everyone involved. "Would either of you care to explain yourselves, or should we just get straight to the punishment?" His wand twitched in his hand and it took almost everything he had to throttle the urge to march Fowler down to the Headmaster's office in nothing but his skivvies. It would do the american some good, no doubt.

"Professor Kale, it's just a..." Lexie was silenced by the cold look in his eyes and the fact that she really couldn't talk her way out of this one. Stepping out from behind Taze slightly, she kept her gaze on the floor and waited for the worst to come. Taze was still almost uncomfortably close and positioned between her and Kale, but that didn't help. This was going to be bad. Really bad.

Taze pressed his mouth into a straight like and glared right back at Professor Kale like that was going to save him, "Hey, not our fault we got lost." He insisted, making sure to keep himself mostly between Lexie and the ex-Auror, "But sorry. Won't happen again." Taze, pulling Lyric along behind him, started towards a door across the room like the professor was gunna just let them walk out of there.

"Not so fast Mr. Fowler." Taze hadn't made it halfway across the room before a rather large couch found it's way into the young couple's path, forcing them to hault their escape attempt. "First off, for trying to escape, we'll be taking ten points from Gryffindor a piece. Just be lucky I'm partial to the house, or I'd take off more." He wasn't one to mince words. The Gryffindors were his favorite, and it irritated him that their quidditch team of all things was at the heart of this current dilemma.

"As for the rest of this, I think evening detention will suite both of you quite nicely through the remainder of the term. I'll send the specifics as soon as I find an equitable task for your actions. Run along now children, I have scheming to do." With that, the couch moved out of the way and over to Asher who sat down on it with a chilling grin.

Oh man. Evening detention was going to kill both of them with the big game coming up, not to mention the loss of house points so close to the end of the year. This was bad, even for her. Nudging Taze out the door whenever Kale finally released them, she didn't stop moving until they were out the door and down the hall. Lexie almost forgot that she was holding his hand. "What are we going to do now? " She asked as soon as they were far enough away to talk safely. They had already missed the start of class, might as well figure things out now.

Taze would have argued how unfair he was being but Lexie had somehow gotten him to the corridor before giving him a chance to do that. He look down at her and pulled his hand from her and run it through his hair. His other hand had his broom still, though he wasn't quite sure how since he had dropped it to make out with her, "I don't know. Guess I'm gunna go get food." No point in stressing over the inevitable.

"Uh..yea. That sounds like a good plan. I'll see you later then?" Wow, that was the lamest thing she had ever said in her entire life. Of course she'd see him later. They had detention tonight and Quidditch practice in the morning. The thought crossed her mind as she started to blush. What had gotten in to her all the sudden?

Taze grinned and nodded, "Yeah, sure you will." And waved over his shoulder as he walked away.
