it was the same old same how have you been - open

The sun was shining brightly through the large window to Lilly's right. A large open book she didn't remember the name of lay open before her on the table, untouched. Lilly's head was propped up in her palm as she stared at the blue sky and saw the tops of the tall, rustling green trees. Summer break was almost here. Not that she didn't want to go home, but Hogwarts was the best thing that ever happened to her and she would miss it. Sighing, she glanced around the library, which was bustling with activity. Everyone trying to get ready for finals. Honestly speaking, Lilly wasn't at all worried about finals. She felt like she knew everything quite well and would knock it out of the park.

After a moment of accidentally staring at a Hufflepuff boy picking his nose, Lilly shook her head and laughed more loudly then she meant to, bending her head to try and focus of her Herbology book.

Okay, so maybe Lyric did need to study a little bit thanks to the Professor Kale fiasco. There was no telling what she had missed and her father would kill her if he found out, no matter how laid back he could be. Spotting a familiar face near one of the large windows, she hurried to grab the empty seat near Lilly and sat her books down a little harder than she had intended. "I give, studying may be necessary." She explained, opening the large text to the last thing she remembered. Lyric hated studying, but now...well, there could be worse things and according to Kale she wouldn't be able to do it tonight.

Lilly shook her head and laughing when her friend showed up and dropped her books heavily on the table, "Oh yeah?" She asked with a hint of amusement on her face, "First time for everything I suppose." She teased, pushing the heavy book she had been reading away so she could make room for one of the more relevant volumes Lyric had brought with her.

"I have never stressed about a class before in my life, Lil." Pages flew beneath her fingers as she finally stopped on a section about goblins or trolls or whatever. Something about a war that she hadn't paid attention to. When in the world were they supposed to use this kind of stuff in the real world other than on like, jeopardy. "Help me out here. What did I miss today during the...wait, I don't have time to explain that unless you already know." Telling Lilly about the Kale incident wasn't high on her priority list, but hey. If it got her some study help, then Lyric would do just about anything right now.

Lilly raised her eyebrow and leaned across the table so she could speak more quietly, "All I heard was that you got detention for the rest of the semester with Taze. I haven't been told how that happened and if you want my notes of the Goblin Rebellions, you'll tell me what's happened with Professor Kale." Coughing slightly, Lilly waved her notebook in the air as if taunting Lyric.

"I hate you, I really do." Lyric teased for a moment before glancing around the room. Luckily Lilly had picked a fairly quiet corner of the library and there weren't many people too close, but she still picked the giant book up to use as a little bit of a screen. "Alright, fine. So Taze and I stayed late for a little extra practice, lost track of time, and decided to fly up to the classroom instead of walking because we would be late." Glossing over the minor details was okay, right? Those weren't what she was looking for anyways. "Then Taze tries to take one of the windows out so we can get in and ends up giving some poor kid horse ears and we find a balcony to land on. The doors were locked, so of course I just whipped out my wand and unlocked it, right?"

Taking a deep breath, Lyric looked away from Lilly for a second to try and control the blush creeping up her cheeks. "We went in, I got startled and backed in to Taze...the next thing I knew we were kissing. Kale showed up and freaked out because apparently we were making out in his room. Now we have detention for the rest of forever." Maybe if she hurried through the kissing part Lilly would just accept the answer and move on. Lyric doubted it though, mostly because they were girls and if she was being honest, she wanted to talk about it as much as Lilly probably would.

Quiddith practice. Right okay. Flying to class, yeah that's just weird enough to be something Fowler would think of. Horse ears, hilarious. Scared, probably a sign you should't be there in the first place. Kissing, right understandable. Wait what? Something about detention. What? Kissing, "Lyric Lee you didn't!" She said loudly, earning the attention of the other student sin the library. One of the fifth years in her house glared at her and threw a waded up piece of parchment, a symbol that they were too loud. She gave the girl an apologetic smile before leaning across the table again, "You kissed Taze Fowler?" She said, as if confirming what the girl had already said, "Screw detention, tell me more about that!"

Lyric was blushing furiously by the time Lilly stopped talking. What could she say about the kiss? "Yea, that kinda happened. I don't know Lil. I mean, we were in a dark room and he had his arms around me...if Kale wouldn't have shown up it would've been awesome." Groaning, she laid her head against the desk for a minute. It wasn't the kiss she regretted, it was the stupid comment she made in the hallway. The one time she had slipped up with a guy, it had to be Taze. Still, the kiss itself was pretty amazing. Thinking about it made her smile as she turned her head to look up at Lilly. "It was everything I thought it would be. You know I've had a crush on him for forever, but this is probably as far as it's going to go. I think I messed up pretty bad, not to mention Kale's intervention."

Natalia glared at her words, "Messed up?" She shook her head, "How do you mess up a kiss? Did you bite him or something?" She laughed and dropping the notebook on the wooden table in front of Lexie, "I didn't think you were so...kinky..." She made a face like she was trying not to judge her friend even though she knew very well that it wasn't what Lyric had meant.

Lyric shot Lilly a look that told her exactly where to take her comments before picking up the notebook and opening it to the most recent pages. "I just...we got in the hallway afterwards and I said something stupid. I don't know what got in to me, but it was just... weird. Like not me weird." The information on the pages in front of her just didn't seem to be making sense whenever she was too focused on Taze and the story. She needed to get her head back on straight so that she at least got something done in her minimal free time. "I don't know how I'm going to be in the same room with him tonight. I'm a ditz."

Natalia nodded slowly as if considering Lexie's words, "You know, maybe just pretend like nothing weird happened? I mean, there is always the chance he didn't think it was strange and you acting like it might have been would just make things worse." She nodded more quickly now, "Yes, and if he is a true gentleman, even if he thought it was weird he won't mention it."

Even though Lyric didn't think Lilly was right, she still felt a little bit better about it now that someone knew. If it was out in the open, she could deal with it a little better than just letting it eat her up like she tended to. "I guess we'll have to see." The notes in front of her started to make a little more sense now that she was jogging her brain for whatever they had talked about in the class before. "This really is why you should never leave me alone, like ever. I get in too much trouble."

Lilly laughed and shook her head dramatically, "Unfortunately for you, I am complete shit on a broom." She insisted, "I even hope I don't get too tall for fear of being too far off the ground." She shrugged and looked down at the text book. She basically had the thing memorized at this point and didn't really need to study for her exams at all. Frowning at Lyric, Lilly changed the subject, "So what exam do you need the most help with? Maybe I can put together some notes for you to take."

"History of Magic, for sure. I've got everything else down as well as it's going to get." Leaning back in the chair, she gestured at the book helplessly. Dates and stuff just didn't stick in her head unless she found them important. Most of the time she didn't even remember he dad's birthday, so how was she supposed to remember when the goblin's rebelled or whatever it was they did. "It's useless."

Natalia laughed and nodded, "Of course, History never was your strongest subject. I should have known..." She reached across the table and grabbed the composition notebook, "I'll get these notes copied for you then? I think dinner is starting soon and skipping meals isn't going to help you with what I'm sure is going to be a terrible detention." She teased, stacking her books up and preparing to leave the library.
