After first learning about animagi in his third year Peter started to look into how he could become an animagi, especially after he found out about Minerva McGonagall someone who became a hero of sorts for him. He wanted to learn how to become an animagus to better understand the art of transfiguration and extend his skills, such as his role model. His first attempt was in the first half of his sixth year under the supervision of the current transfiguration teacher.
He discovered his form was a wolf in his animangus form. It is a strong and powerful animal and would be helpful in a fight if needed but as he is registered with his markings it would be highly unlikely he would ever par take in any kind of action like that. The biggest downside is that he is registered, however he would rather be registered than have to spend any time in Azkaban.

[ PERSONALITY ]
Typical big brother protective and teasing towards his younger sister, but he would do anything for her especially if she were in trouble. Now that he has a niece she has become the light of his life and any time he gets to be with her he absorbs all the energy and laughter he can, she is his whole world. Dedicated to his work and inspiring young minds, as well as learning all he can though he is known to be fairly to the point. Peter is aware of all he can learn from his students and he is good at taking in to account what they are trying to do but he is very to the point. Loyalty to him is more than sticking just to your house or your family, it is sticking up for all those who deserve to be heard and so he will support anyone who has the desire to learn or experience new things.

WAY BACK WHEN...

Peter was the oldest child in his family and had the chance to be an only child for two years, when he was joined by his younger sister he was rather upset that this thing had to come and take away all the attention he was used to getting from his parents. As the years went on though he found he was rather attached to the little blob and so he began looking out for her and helping to teach her how to walk and all the other little events that happened as you grow up. Despite the love and adoration he had for his sister he also found it very fulfilling to spend time teasing her if something wasn’t quite up to snuff with her attitude or just to get a reaction out of her. They were a terror when together and when they were fighting it is a wonder they managed to survive their early childhood and their time at Hogwarts together.
Though their parents were both Magical they wanted their children to experience what a muggle education was like and so enrolled them in Primary school, Peter loved learning and wanted to keep going despite getting his Hogwarts letter at eleven Peter was sad to leave his school and his friends. Once he entered Hogwarts though his mind was blown, all the little things you could do with Magic. Peter found he excelled at Transfiguration and Charms while being rather proficient in Defense Against the Dark Arts as well. Peter was sorted into Gryffindor like his mother and he found out that while in school his parents were in opposite houses, his dad belonging to the green and silver.
As the years progressed his interest in transfiguration grew and while he was in his third year learning about animagi and how to become one he was disappointed to see that many wanted to use the skill to escape some sort of issues regarding the law, despite this he was interested in the process and started gathering all the information he could on the subject. Through his research he discovered that Minerva McGonagall, a former Headmistress had learned the skill to merely further her studies in a subject that she loved. Not only that but upon hearing just how remarkable she was helped to inspire the young man to begin the study on how to become an animangus.
Throughout all this time he made sure to stay connected with his sister who was sorted into Ravenclaw and was making a name for herself, he still took the time to carefully plan a few pranks so that his sister would be aware he was always keeping his eye out for her. In turn, though, he was caught once or twice in her own plans of revenge.
It took years of work and study and he had no idea what he would become upon the transition but with the help of his Transfiguration teacher in his sixth year, he was able to transform into a rather large grey wolf with a black tip for a tale. Still it would take him another year to truly master the process, and test his limits with regards to his form. After his first successful transformation he was riding a typical high from the success only to run into his sister and her friend Anthony were caught between a group of older Students primarily from Anthony’s own Slytherin house. They were throwing out several verbal curses and even a few magical jinxes at the pair. Peter stepped in and proceeded to send the foursome away with faces covered in rather painful boils. He simply took Isobel and Anthony to the hospital wing to have their cuts and bruises looked after but didn’t ask for anything in return.
He graduated from Hogwarts top of his Class in Transfiguration and Charms, and even managed to earn the position of Head Boy after two years as a prefect. He joined the ministry for a few years working in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office until he received a letter by Owl post offering him the position of Transfiguration professor; he accepted the position and has been there ever since, enjoying his job and life all the more. In the last three years he has become an Uncle to a rather precocious girl Lucy and he spends all his free time with her when she is not with her parents, though soon she will learn the roll of big sister as he was just told he will be an Uncle in the coming months, Lucy isn’t happy that she will have to share, he simply smiles and tells her things will get better quickly.
