Leaning back in his chair Oliver groaned when he looked at his watch and saw that for the last two hours he had been working on his history paper, he knew what he wanted to write and he knew the topic and yet nothing was really working for the paper and he was getting frustrated. He thankfully had finished his potions and defense essay but he still needed to work on his transfiguration paper and the arithmancy assignment. Sighing at that though he was glad at least to know that he would have a few more days before the last two were due, he still wanted to have them all finished so that he could focus on training with the team before the finals.

After a few more minutes he stood up and grabbed all the books that he found weren’t helpful and decided to put them back on the shelves, it would help him clean up and help the blood start flowing again. He was stiff from sitting in the chair for so long anyway. It took him several minutes but once he was done he rolled his shoulders and his neck, “Come on, you know you can get this done!”

Everyone else still seemed to be stressing out about last minute assignments and finals, but Isaac was completely fine. All of his assignments had been turned in days ago, his study prep was finalized, and all he had left was to go over the notecards he didn't need a few more times. The only reason he even bothered going to the library was that he was bored and wanted something to read for the next few days. That, and the ravenclaw common room was pretty stiffling right now. 

The only open seat he could find was by an older boy, a Gryffindor by his dress, and he took it without thinking twice. Whoever he was, he stood up to take books back to the shelves around the same time Isaac sat down. It gave him a chance to look at the scroll the guy was writing on, something about Transfiguration that Isaac didn't quite understand. He was still leaning over it a few minutes later, interest overriding his common sense again.

Shaking his head and rolling his shoulders Oliver walked out of the shelves of books only to find his table had gained another body, a body who seemed to be reading his final paper for Transfiguration. Smiling when he realized it was a first or second year Ravenclaw he approached the distracted young man and smiled. "Are you enjoying learning about Human Transfiguration already?" 

Oliver pulled his former chair out and sat down pulling his history paper to him and skimmed it again, knowing it was the proper length but still wasn't really what he wanted. Sighing he pushed it away from him and looked to the young Ravenclaw and spoke again, "I'm Oliver, a Sixth Year Gryffindor if my shirt didn't give my house away." He chuckled a bit and added, "Now who might I have the pleasure meeting this evening in the library, I know you are a Ravenclaw but I am awful with names. Possibly one to many bludgers to the head?" Olive smiled trying to lighten the mood.

Isaac jumped slightly as the owner of the paper came back. Oh man, this guy was huge compared to him and probably mad...or not. Okay, so at least he hadn't found someone mean this time. "Transfiguration is so cool. What are you learning? Is this about animagi? I want to learn how to do that so bad.." the instant that Isaac began to feel comfortable, the rambling started. He had too many questions and not enough answers, even if he was asking the wrong person.

Only the mention of Oliver's name stopped him for a moment. Oh yea, they still hadn't exchanged pleasantries yet. How rude of him. "I'm Isaac, and yea, I'm a ravenclaw first year. I'm going to be head boy some day." He stated, almost as if the decision had already been made. Isaac was confident, you had to give him that one.

Isaac seemed like a pretty sharp kid, someone who definitely fit in with Ravenclaw he smiled, “It is a pleasure to meet you Isaac and no this paper isn’t on the process of becoming an animagi it is on changing a human into a different shape, such as a sofa, or ferret. If you want to become an animagi though I hear our own Professor Watson might be a good person to ask about it seeing as he is one.” Oliver started to pack up his finished assignments and then moved a fresh piece of parchment over to him and he slightly glared at the item knowing that he was about to start his whole paper over again.

Turning to look at Isaac he said, “I find transfiguration and defense truly exciting and even potions. History I love reading but at times, like right now I hate writing the papers because I don’t have the same passion for the class. What are your favorite classes so far and what do you think about qudditch?” As he waited for Isaac’s answer he started reworking his paper again deciding that this would be the last attempt on it.

"I like charms a lot. Making things float is really cool and the other spells are nifty. Transfiguration is awesome too though." He started, thinking about all of this classes. Isaac loved learning in general, so having to choose was really hard. "The only one I don't like is Defense Against the Dark Arts. Professor Kale kinda scares me some times and keeps telling us that the desks are former students who didn't turn their homework in." That had been utterly terrifying the first time, but Professor Ace had assured them that everything was okay. It was their first day of class afterall.

Quidditch was something he didn't always feel comfortable talking about. He was muggle born and hadn't really paid attention to it before coming to Hogwarts. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't wrap his head around the rules. "Quidditch is...alright? I mean I like the flying, but...the rules and stuff are weird. I don't think I could ever do it."

Oliver smiled at the boy as he mentioned Charms and Transfiguration and found himself chuckling at how Professor Kale managed to scared the boy, it seemed like that had been his plan and considering his profession when not teaching was hunting down dark wizards it wasn’t out of the realm of possibility for former students to be transfigured into desks. "Professor Kale I think likes the darker humor due to his job, he isn't to bad though and we have a great resource with him."  Then came the discussion about Qudditch and the confusing nature of the rules, Oliver leaned back and smiled brightly.

“The rules are fairly easy since the Chasers try to score using the quaffle and each team has 3 chasers, the keeper has to guard the 3 goals. So if you like football these positions are very similar to the strikers and keepers in football. “ Oliver grabbed a blank piece of parchment and broke down those positions, continuing Oliver added, “Beaters you could say are like defenders though they use a bat to hit the bludgers toward the Chasers, Keeper or Seeker of the other team so as to give their team an edge. They also can try and knock the other team’s beaters but again that could work against them. The Seeker though is its own unique position as it is ball they have to try and catch, it is a fast little devil and the fact that it is gold only makes it that much harder to see.” Putting his quill down he stretched a little hoping that helped explain it a little.

Oliver then turned and said a little too excitedly, “I happen to be the Gryffindor Seeker, though I will let you in on a little secret.” Lowering his voice he continued, “I am terrified of heights, despite how I like flying every time we get ready for a match my heart is racing. If you like flying and don’t have that fear you are already in a better place than I am.”

A seeker who was scared of heights? Now that was wicked. "Maybe you can explain it to me sometime. Like actually at a game or something." he wasn't cokpletely sure how that would work, but it would be awesome. Before he could ask anymore awkward questions, Isaac caught sight of the red remembrall in his bag, signaling that he had forgotten something. Something like a meeting with professor asher to discuss his exam grade. "Oh man, I gotta go. Bye Oliver, see you next year!" and with that he was off, running down the hallway and hoping that kale wouldn't dock him more points if he was a few minutes late.
