Everyone else had cleared out of platform 9 3/4 about half an hour before, but Isaac was still there. His parents had promised to meet him there so they could all go home together, but here he was. No one had said a word to him as sll of the happy families reunited and exited the station for summer break. Sll of his friends were gone, but his parents never showed snd he was starting to panic.
An an hour later he wasas still sitting there, holding his trunk and trying not to cry, on a bench outside the platform entrance. Isaac didn't have a cellphone because of the magical interference and his parents hadn't left him any muggle money at the last break because he wouldnt need it. He had no way to call home or anywhere else to go.
isaac was lost and alone.

She rolled her eyes but walked over with grace. She had changed out of her uniform but she still had an air of authority. She instructed the servant to take her luggage to the house. "I will be returning late today. Inform my parents that I decided to gather some necessary items for a specialized summer project and to not expect me till late" Raven instructed. She had a purse over her shoulder and Onyx around her neck. She walked off as the servant bowed and proceeded to gather her belonging. Usually Raven would just head home but she didn't want to today.
Her parents never met her at the train station. She was always escorted home by a servant. Granted her parents would be angry that she didn't have an escort. However they only sent one servant this time, usually it was two. It wasn't her fault that she wasn't given an escort. Raven was about to head out of the station now that most of the students were meeting their families. She noticed a younger student sitting on one of the benches. He looked very sad. Against her better judgement she decided to take a seat next to the boy.

you are my shooting star you give me love and light through the shadows of the night As Oliver was grabbing his trunk and his bag he noticed Isaac, the first year he met in the library only a few nights ago and he seemed to be looking for someone. Oliver kept his eye on the boy as he spoke to his friends, and teammates one last time before they were to go on their separate ways for the summer. This year his parents and siblings were unable to pick him up though that didn't matter much to him.
As time passed still no once seemed to come and collect Isaac, but he did notice the Slytherin keeper Raveena approach and sit next to him. Slowly Oliver made his way over as well and smiled, "Hey there Isaac, Hello Raveena." He greeted the pair before he crouched down to look at Isaac, "Are you still waiting for your parents?" Oliver asked the boy wanting to hear it from him rather than assume that was the case, no matter how likely it really was.
Oliver turned and looked around as he waited for the young Ravenclaw to answer just to check and see if there was anyone approaching the threesome. When he saw no one he looked at Raveena shaking his head as if to say, I don't think anyone is coming.

"My...my parents were supposed to meet me out here because they don't like walking throufh the wall, but they aren't here yet." Isaac explained, a slight quiver in his normally loud and happy voice. He was happy that Raven and Oliver had found him. Raven was Aubri's friend and a prefect, so he trusted her even if he didn't know her very well and Oliver seemed like a nice guy. Plus they were both older than him, so they had to know what to do. "I can't call them because I don't have a cell phone. They just hit traffic or lost track of time, right?" He looked back and forth between the older students, looking every bit as lost and confused on the outside as he was on the inside.

She didn't know much about the Gryffindor. He was a grade above her and the Gryffindor seeker. That was it though. Maybe it was a good thing. There wouldn't be any personal bias. It would make helping the younger students somewhat easier. However, some part of her told her that this wasn't going to be easy. She was glad Oliver knew the boys name. Isaac, why did she forget that.
She took note of the look in Oliver's face as Isaac explained what was going on. She didn't want to give the boy any false hope. Sure as a Slytherin she was fine with giving people false hope but this situation was different. He was a muggle born though. If her family found out that would be the end of it. Granted she could say she didn't know or was just using the situation. She was very glad she didn't have an escort at that moment.
"I don't know. We can sit here for a little bit and see what happens. It is better than sitting alone. We will just have to figure things out as they go. Oliver do you have a cell on you? I don't have mine with me" Raven asked hoping Oliver did. If they could call his parents then maybe things could be figured out quickly. template made by @alaya |

you are my shooting star you give me love and light through the shadows of the night Oliver nodded when Raveena stated that they would stay with him until Isaac's parents arrived. When she asked if he had his cell phone he reached inside and pulled out his phone, and proceeded to turn it on. Once he saw the lock screen he smiled happy that the battery hadn't died yet. "Here you go Isaac, hopefully you'll get an answer and we will have an idea as to when you will be picked up." Smiling softly he stood and moved to take a seat next to Isaac on his other side.
Oliver took out his wallet and quickly took a look at how much muggle currency he had, glad he remembered to grab some from home on the Christmas break as well as the cab fare his parents had sent him a few days ago. "If needed we can go grab a bite to eat, or something if it will be a longer wait." He offered as he placed his wallet back in his pocket. |

Isaac nodded and dialed his mothers number. Several rings passed before the voicemail message clicked on and he hung up to try again. The next time, a breathless woman answered, but it wasn't his mom. It was a stranger. "Hello? Who is this?."The strange woman asked, and he almost considered hanging up. Maybe someone had stolen his mom's phone. This is Isaac. Who are you and where is my mom? He asked quietly, looking over at Oliver and Raven as he did. Something was wrong. Very wrong. He could feel it.
Isaac, thank God. Where are you?. The woman asked, relief evident in the unfamiliar voice. Whoever this lady was, she was obviously worried. "I'm where I'm supposed to be. Now why won't you tell me where my mom is? " the person sighed and the line was silent for a moment. Isaac, my name is Auror Rainer. If you are where you are supposed to be, then my partner and I will be at King's Cross in five minutes. Stay there and stay in sight. with that, the woman hung up. Isaac wasn't sure when the phone had accidentally switched to speaker, but he was sure that Raven and Oliver heard everything as he looked at them, confused and scared at the same time.

She made no sound or motion when she heard who it was. Auror Rainer. Her and her partner would be there in five minutes. If an Auror was on the other line that was bad. Very bad. She stayed calm outwardly. She was freaking out on the inside. What happened? What now? Rainer, partner. It suddenly hit Raven who was going to be with Rainer.
A shiver went down her spine. She stood, showing no emotion. She should leave, right then. It would only cause problems for her later. Onyx slithered out from behind her hair and looked her in the eye. Raven looked over to Isaac then to Oliver. Her mind was made up. "I'll stay with you till they arrive. Let me just say this real quick before they do show up. Only listen to Rainer. Do not believe what her partner says unless she says it as well and under no circumstance are you to go with her partner alone. Do whatever you can to make sure you are not left alone with him" Raven didn't really want to scare him but it was important.
She looked over at Oliver, her face stern, strong. Her eyes showed her fear. She hoped the Gryffindor would be able to give some words of comfort because at the moment she couldn't. She sat back down and placed Onyx in her lap. template made by @alaya |

you are my shooting star you give me love and light through the shadows of the night At Raveena's outburst Oliver looked at her trying to figure out how she knew who the partner would be, and why she suddenly looked more on edge than he thought was possible. Looking back at Isaac though his heart dropped and it was as if a pit formed in his stomach, auror's were never a good thing to hear from and not when they sounded as worried as Auror Rainer seemed.
Smiling he looked at both of his companions, "Thanks for the advice Raveena, Isaac whatever happens next I suggest you follow her advice." Looking away he realized that really wasn't enough and so he wrapped his arm around the boy and said, "Also you are not alone, I want you to know that no matter what happens I...we will try to help you out." He looked at Raveena answering for her and realizing he wasn't so sure about her but knew that if it wasn't partially true she wouldn't have stopped to help Isaac.

"Okay." Isaac whispered, not sure what else to say. Some strange lady and her friend were coming to get him and whoever they were...well, it scared Raven and that was good enough for him. He didn't want to go, but it was the only way that they were going to tell him where his parents were.
A few long minutes later, Isaac looked over to see a woman in long robes and a stoic face striding through the crowds, an angry looking man who resembled Raven following close behind. She took one look at him and his companions before stopping a few feet away. "Isaac, you need to come with Auror Gaunt and I. There's been an emergency. " The man looked ready to speak, and Isaac suddenly found himself feeling scared. He leaned in towards Oliver as he waited to see what they would say, almost like he was asking the boy to protect him.

He was able to comfort Isaac, something she couldn't do. She looked over to see the two Aurors approach. Part of Raven's being wanted to bow and walk away when her father showed up, the other part wanted to protect the boy. She knew her father hated muggle borns. This was not a good situation. And on top of that she noticed Isaac lean in closer to Oliver for protection. Whatever happened it wasn't good. She discretely hissed at Onyx to hid in Isaac's belonging. Someone was going to say something and she wanted to know everything about the situation. Also it wasn't much but she felt better if some part of her could watch out for the Ravenclaw, at least until he was in better hands.
Raven stood when the Auror stopped talking. She bowed her head in respect to her father, never breaking eye contact. The air between father and daughter was thick and honestly frightening. Raven stood tall and strong her expression never wavering. She was a Guant, a Slyterin and she was not going to cave to this man even if he was her father. "Good day Father" She was respectful, her voice never betraying her. "Ravenna. I entrust you will be present at dinner" When Ravena was younger that voice would almost reduce her to tears. It still was frightening. She could feel his anger. "Of course father" It was such a simple exchange but the tone and air about the two said so much more.
Raven didn't move from her spot. She wasn't going to leave till she was sure Isaac was safe and willing to go. No mater how terrifying her father was. If she was to take over and change things from the inside with the pure bloods she could not let her own father beat her down with a simple exchange of words. Even if those words were an underlying threat. "Might we inquire why he must leave with you two. This manor is quite irregular" Raven sated boldly. Her voice was just like the one she used in her classes, never revealing what she was feeling.

you are my shooting star you give me love and light through the shadows of the night Oliver made sure to hold Isaac a little more securely when he felt the boy move closer to him when Auror Rainer asked him to come with them, something bad had happened but just as Raveena said to the pair of Aurors, after her short yet tense conversation with her father, it was highly irregular for them to appear like this. "I would have to agree with my friend, this is irregular. What's going on and where are Isaac's parents?"
He was direct and to the point, yet he wasn't willing to let them think he was going to just turn the boy over. He watched Raveena from the corner of his eye and found her still a little tense, but she didn't appear to be backing down either.
Whispering to Isaac he said, "Isaac, we will only let you go if you want to go with them. You need to let us know what you want to do buddy." He looked at Raveena and then the Aurors still waiting for an answer from the duo. |

Isaac watched as the woman sighed and kneeled down in front of him. His eyes met hers as she started to speak. "Listen, Isaac. This isn't an easy thing to say. Your parents...they were killed today in what appears to be a murder. We need to take you somewhere safe until we know what's exactly going on." Isaac sat there in shock, not quite sure how to process what was going on. His mom? How could she be murdered? She was just a nurse. His dad too? Why would anyone want to hurt them?
The tears started falling slowly as things started to set in. "I...I guess I have to go with them." he whispered in response to Oliver's statement. It didn't sound like he had much of a choice at this point.

Murder? That would defiantly make sense why there were two Aurors standing there ready to take Isaac. Raven caught a glance at her father when then murder was mentioned. His face never changed but there was a hint in his eyes. She would most likely hear him gloat about it later. She watched the other Auror carefully trying to gauge the situation. There was only so much the two students could do at this point and she wasn't about to go against her father.
Onyx was safely in one of Isaac's bags. Isaac was right he had to go with him. Raven sat back down next to Isaac and placed a soft hand on his shoulder. "You will be alright. Once you are settled in we will check up on you" Her voice was like silk but she made sure to look at Oliver with an intense gaze saying that she would make sure to know where he was being taken. Raven figured the Aurors would not tell them where Isaac was being taken but that didn't matter to Raven.

you are my shooting star you give me love and light through the shadows of the night Oliver looked at the Auror as she spoke and then at Isaac, they had little choice given the circumstances and yet he still felt a little wary leaving the boy with the Aurors after Raveena's warning. When she sat down and comforted Isaac he smiled a little she had a calming voice and she seemed to have already planned something.
"Raveena is right, once you are settled we will make sure to check in. You are a tough kid, you made it through your first year and have gained two more friends and I think we both can help teach you about quidditch later." He smiled hoping the young boy could crack a small smile, "After all you know my fear. We will always be here for you don't forget that alright?"
He gave the boy a fairly strong side hug hoping he knew that he didn't have to feel alone. Looking at Raveena he smiled outwardly but nodded slightly allowing her to know he agreed with whatever she had planned. Turning to Auror Rainer he said, "I don't suppose there is anything we could do to help you?" Already having an idea as to the answer he just wanted to say it so that Isaac again heard that they weren't turning their backs on him. |
